![]() On Clementine, they changed the drops to be PSO2-style where everyone gets their own stuff. If you and your friends want to give PSU a shot, you can try it out together on the recently launched private server. There is a level cap for Skills, Bullets, Technics and Support Technics based on the Type chosen. Skills will gain more attacks in it's combo, Bullets will gain bonus effects, and Technics will become larger. Photon Arts will level up as you use them, and become more powerful. While Technics were in PSO, Skills and Bullets are new to PSU. Photon Arts are composed of Skills, Bullets and Technics used by Striking, Ranged, and Casting weapons respectively. There is no indicator as to when to JA, but there will be a yellow effect on the character when you perform one successfully. Timing your attacks will boost your next attack's damage greatly. These additions allow even more enemies to be thrown your way. PSU also introduced Photon Arts to the series. The combat has been sped up compared to the first PSO. Once the Basic Types are leveled enough, players will be able to swap to the Expert Types and later the Master Types. Afterwards, your Type can be changed at the 5th Floor of the Guardians Colony. Players will start as a Basic Type–Hunter, Ranger, or Force–based on the Race they choose. ![]() Players can party up with 5 others to challenge the missions!Ĭlasses are known as in PSU. With Modern Warfare Remastered, we already got the first part of the series in 2016, complete with campaign and multiplayer in fancier graphics. Similar apps to pastebot4/29/2023 ![]() If you do any work that requires you to keep a lot of boilerplate text or graphics available for pasting into emails or moving to your Mac, Pastebot can be a powerful assistant. There are also a number of apps for transferring text and graphics to and from Mac and iPhone, but none of them work as seamlessly or as easily as Pastebot.Īs I've said before, Tapbots apps are beautifully designed, and an incredible amount of thought goes into making them groundbreaking in their functionality and usability. Is there competition for Pastebot? PasteCatcher, a product from our TUAW colleague Erica Sadun, can send clipboard items from a Mac to an iPhone, but there's no two-way capability. The folders can be given a unique name and one of six different folder icons for visual identification. Pastebot can hold up to 99 items in its Clipboard, but if you have more graphics or text snippets to store, you can create any number of folders. The Share icon also lets me choose to paste the graphic to a Mac, save the image into my photo library, or save it in a folder. To paste it into an email, I can either tap and hold on the logo to copy it to the iPhone's clipboard, then paste it in the text of the email, or I can simply tap on the Share icon below the logo in the Clipboard and select Send as Email. Since I leave Pastebot Sync running on my Mac all the time, I open the logo on my Mac, copy it, and seconds later it's in the Clipboard in Pastebot on the iPhone. Pastebot works the other way, too! Let's say that I want to have a company logo saved on my iPhone so I can paste it into my emails. Using File > New from clipboard in Preview opens the iPhone screenshot in a new document, ready for touchup, annotation, and resizing before publishing in a post. Using Pastebot, I simply tap on a photo that I've already cropped (yes, Pastebot does that, too!) and it is "pasted" to my Mac. ![]() I then run the screenshots through Preview for cropping and resizing. Usually this entails either mailing the photos to myself five at a time, or putting them in my Dropbox to pick up later. I often need to take screenshots on my iPhone and then ship them over to my Mac for inclusion in a post I'm writing. This capability, as you can see in the video at the top of this post, is nothing short of sheer genius. Pastebot Sync - a free download from the Tapbots site - is a system preference pane that adds the ability to let you copy and paste between devices automatically. But if you're a Mac user, Pastebot has a cool companion that creates a powerful combo. Here, the filters let you convert text to lowercase, uppercase, encode or decode HTML entities, find and replace text, quote lines, add smart quotes, straighten quotes, or wrap text in HTML tags.Īll of these are very useful functions on their own on the iPhone or iPod touch. Text snippets also get the royal treatment from Pastebot. For graphics, there are five filters available that can be applied to the photos - brightness (allows a user to lighten or darken a graphic by moving a slider), convert to black and white, invert, saturation (increase or decrease color saturation, once again with a slider), and sepia. The actions vary depending on whether or not the item on the Clipboard is a graphic or text. Tapping again slides a small toolbar out of the bottom of the frame. When that circle turns blue (it looks like a blue LED), the clipboard item is selected and ready to perform some action on. The Clipboard items have a frame around them with a small circle up in the top right corner. When you copy the item, then launch Pastebot, the item is automatically added to the Clipboard. It can be text or a graphic, a URL or a photo. To add items to the clipboard, you simply use the iPhone's copy and paste function to copy something. As with all of the Tapbots apps, the user interface is not only functional, but a treat to the eyes. Launching the app brings you directly into the Clipboard. ![]() Now Tapbots has introduced a third app to their stable of products Pastebot, which is a combination of clipboard storage and (with a companion Mac app called Pastebot Sync) inter-platform cut and paste. Next came Convertbot, a unit converter calculator that featured an innovative and extremely useful interface. First there was Weightbot, a beautifully designed app for tracking your weight. ![]() Over the past couple of years, I've had the pleasure to write about iPhone / iPod touch apps from Tapbots. ![]()

Note to Parents: For younger children these number of beats is still new and they may not understand very much how it applies to playing the notes. Warcraft iii remaster4/29/2023 ![]() ![]() While it features most of the traditional elements of the genre, like base building, resource gathering and maps shrouded in a fog of war, it's really driven by its heroes. It helps that real-time strategy hasn't made many leaps since 2002. Impressively, two decades hasn't dulled it at all. It's still the Warcraft 3 you remember, but it looks a bit nicer. With the exception of the graphics improvements, Blizzard has walked most of these changes back.įor the purists, this might be good news. There were going to be new cutscenes, a new UI and more. Not only was Blizzard going to add heaps of new art and modern graphics wizardry, it was going to go over the campaigns again, improving them, tinkering with the pace and even bringing the lore and story in line with World of Warcraft. Initially, it sat somewhere between remaster and full-on remake. In the wake of the Blitzchung-Hong Kong protest debacle back in September, Warcraft III: Reforged looks to do little to redress the waning fortunes of an erstwhile revered gaming institution.Blizzard hasn't done a great job of communicating what Warcraft 3: Reforged actually is. While tempers flair among the player base, Blizzard remains disconcertingly quiet. The forum tells a similar story about the game’s reception with thread titles such as ‘You Have Killed Warcraft 3’ and ‘That’s what happens when you fire 800 employees’. There are even reports that Blizzard attempted to quell the discontent by banning users on the official Warcraft III forum seeking out refunds. ![]() Source: Metacritic Blizzard Reportedly Bans Users On Warcraft Forum Over on Metacritic, Warcraft III: Reforged is nursing a poor 2.4 User Score as of writing, accompanied by similarly disappointed reviews. Here is a sample of the concerns raised on the Warcraft III subreddit: Source: Reddit Source: Reddit Source: Reddit Source: Reddit The game is ridden with seemingly downgraded graphics, missing assets, shoddy animations, countless bugs, facets of multiplayer not working correctly, recycled cinematics, sketchy performance, and the absence of a UI refresh among other promised features. Calls for refunds resonate ever louder as more players sample Warcraft III: Reforged with some even laying out the steps for players to get their money back.Ĭomplaints levied at Warcraft III: Reforged run the gamut. ![]() The general gist that appears to permeate each impassioned post from disappointed players is that Blizzard has lost its touch and is a shadow of its former self. The Internet’s familiar gaming haunts such as Reddit are awash with overwhelmingly negative criticism. As players eagerly jump in, the reactions have been nothing short of scathing. In an effort to rekindle that nostalgia, yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment released the long-awaited remake Warcraft III: Reforged. Gamers of a certain age fondly remember Warcraft III as a seminal entry in the annals of gaming history. It although birthed an entire genus of games as we saw with the Defense of the Ancients mod morphing into the MOBA genre. Warcraft III burst onto the scene in 2002, defining the real-time strategy games of that era. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dallas socialite Margarita Sames insisted that she concocted the drink for a group of her friends while vacationing in Acapulco in 1948. Another famed contender for the title of OG margarita maker has claims to the throne based on her name along, because that name is. While all bartenders can relate to the situation of an annoying customer, it was Herrera who claims to have whipped up the instant classic - or so says his obituary. By the way, he lived until 90, once again proving that alcohol is probably really good for you.īut Herrera isn't even close to the only person to try and take credit for one of America's most popular drinks. So Herrera worked around the prototypical tequila shot (which is taken with salt and lime) and threw together the margarita. Restaurant goer Marjorie King declared she was allergic to all spirits except tequila, but didn't like to drink the spirit straight. What inspired him? A picky dancer, it seems. Where The Margarita Was Invented & How It Got Its NameĬarlos "Danny" Herrera, owner of Tijuana restaurant Rancho La Gloria, claims he invented the drink in 1938. Twisting the glass in salt can cause some of it to fall into the glass, altering the flavor profile of the cocktail. Lastly, to really make the perfect Margarita, Mix recommends salting the drink by rubbing lime on the outside of the glass and then rolling it in salt. Mix emphasizes that the tequila used should always be 100 percent Blue Weber agave, and says that there is absolutely no substitute for freshly squeezed lime juice. However, if you’re running low on time or don’t have any limes in the house, store bought juice will do in a pinch! What’s the secret to a good Margarita?Īccording to Ivy Mix, esteemed bartender and co-owner of Brooklyn-based FIASCO! Wine and Spirits, the secret to a good Margarita lies in the caliber of the ingredients used. Store bought lime juice can also contain added sugars and artificial flavors, which may impact the true taste of a Margarita. Oftentimes, bottled lime juice only contains a certain percentage of fresh juice with the remainder consisting of lime juice substitutes, like lime oil, to give additional flavor. When making a classic Margarita, it’s always best to use freshly squeezed lime juice for optimal flavor. Can you use store bought lime juice for Margaritas? Depending on your tequila and triple sec of choice, the alcohol content of a Margarita will range anywhere from 27.5 percent to 35 percent. Tequila typically has an ABV of around 40 percent while triple sec’s ABV can range anywhere from 15 to 30 percent. Margarita FAQ What is a classic Margarita made of?Ī classic Margarita is made of Blanco tequila, lime juice, and triple sec, shaken with ice, and then served in a rocks glass on the rocks with a salt rim and a lime wedge for garnish. ![]()
